The Classical world of Greece and Rome and the empires, the stories and the people that emerged have shaped the very world we live in today. Hannibal Barca the curse of Rome, the most amazing man Pericles who even has a Golden Age named after him. Octavian who oversaw the transformation of Rome from Republic to Empire, and the stories of Mark Antony and Cleopatra are just some of the amazing themes of the Classical period we will explore.

Topics covered include:

  • Classical Greece from Solon to Pericles. Alexander the Great
  • The Roman Empire from the death of Julius Caesar to Augustus becoming Rome’s first Emperor

Students should have a good level of literacy.
