Course Description

NCEA Level 2 Agriculture and Horticulture is available through NetNZ.
This course is a practical, production-focused course, involving learners in problem-solving in the Agriculture/Horticulture domain.
It is based on realistic and practical Agricultural and/or Horticultural contexts. Students learn to explore agricultural and horticultural issues and to communicate their ideas to others In agricultural and horticultural science. Learners will find themselves dealing with contexts, issues, and problem-solving drawn from a broad agenda that includes, for example:
- Primary production - processes and profitability. This consists of 1 internal and 1 external NCEA Level 3 standards, 10 credits total.
- Primary product - attributes, adding value and marketing. This consists of 1 internal and 1 external NCEA Level 3 standards, 9 credits total.
Students that complete this course should be ready to gain employment or continue their studies through a tertiary provider.
This is a University Entrance (UE) approved Achievement Standards course that covers the production and marketing of two primary industry products and the environmental impact of Agriculture and/or Horticulture.
