NCEA Level 3 Classical Studies is available through NetNZ.

Level 3 CLASSICAL STUDIES is the study of the culture and civilization of ancient Greece and Rome. We pay particular attention to the religion, art, architecture, law, sociology, politics, philosophy and history of these two cultures. As such Classics is an interdisciplinary study and whether you are interested in art, literature, history, drama, philosophy, or politics, you will find something of interest to you in Classics.

Throughout the year we will study: 

  • Augustus and the establishment of the Roman Empire
  • Roman Art and Architecture
  • Greek Science
  • The comedies of Aristophanes




Recommended Prior Learning

Students should have a good level of literacy.
