Students who have not completed Level 1 soft materials technology would need to have very good sewing skills to succeed in the Level 2 course.
The Level 2 Soft Materials construction course is a hands-on practical course made up of a mix of achievement standards and unit standards, totalling 16 credits.
It continues to expand on the basic knowledge and skills learned at Level 1 and increases the skill level to include such things as advanced sewing techniques and advanced pattern adaptation. Students can undertake a submission based external paper if they wish to aim for course endorsement.
Two major sewing projects are undertaken during the course of the year.
